Nice essay. There’s a lot of wisdom there, particularly about purpose vs calling. I’ve been around for 65 years now (although I find that hard to believe), but still have no idea what my purpose is, or if I even have one. Maybe, like you, I’m just here to be. Thanks for sharing this.

wow, what a great essay. It also gives hope for naturists that California is still the place to be.

Purpose is whatever helps you put one foot in front of another. Without purpose, you'd never move.

The difference between a calling and a purpose. This is good, deep stuff. And beautifully written. This post has definitely given me something to think about.

I so envy you, Julia. Like most people, I am a 'slave to the grind'. I get naked whenever I can, but I live in England, so for at least 8 months of the year, it's just not practicable to do so (outdoors or indoors - with energy prices as high as they are...) I did however, take a year out once (2001) and visited 12 countries in 12 months (mainly in Asia, but also Oceania and South America) travelling on a very shoestring budget. 😊

Why do you get out of bed in the morning? That's your purpose.

One's purpose is whatever causes you to put one foot in front of the other - your motivation. It is a goal you pursue, whether it is to get a snack to eat or found a company that will make you a billionaire.

Some purposes last longer than others. Some are pleasure driven, others are fear or anger driven. Sometimes the purpose is the journey itself and not the destination.
