Excellent post! Whatever story you decide to go with, I’m sure it’ll be good. Your writing style is a pleasure to read. Btw, pulp fiction cover art… one of my favorite genres :)

It's a hard way to the top if you want a R'n'R naturist novel to tell!! hehehehehe

How about this?

Write your story about a person of many facets. One happens to be naturism. Another might be cowboy action shooting or drag racing or being a college literature professor.

There is nothing about naturism that is itself interesting enough to carry anything but the shortest piece. Once you have written that story, anything else sounds like just more of the same. The stories I like to read are about extraordinary people in extraordinary situations. Nudism makes for neither. Seriously, I get tired of hearing about the raptures of unashamed skin touched by the golden sun or the spirituality of being one with nature and free of the artificiality of textiles.

So don't write the story about nudism or naturists. Write the story about someone doing something interesting who lives a life and just happens to have an affinity for a lack of clothing.

Exactly, I think I have a story, just trying to iron everything out. 😊

I'm not sure that there is very much scope for stories where the main focus is naturism. My writing often includes a relaxed attitude to the naked human body but there are other things going on. In my novel 'A Suggestion in Space' https://mybook.to/asuggestioninspace a small group of people settle on another planet. The main character Lucina writes in her autobiography - 'It’s hard to believe that in most places on Earth, when we left, people going swimming put on special clothes called swimsuits, just for that, and that it was considered extremely impolite or offensive to be naked. At the time I didn’t question it but looking back it’s one of those things that seems really weird.' Most of the story isn't about nudity but it crops up from time to time like the scene where young teenagers, who were used to playing naked on the beach as children, start to notice feelings that they didn't have before.

I didn't intend to make the story about naturism, but wanted to illustrate the paradigm from which I reason and prioritize as a naturist, similar to what Lucina now sees as "really weird".

First, I like your writing style. It’s quick and witty and smart. But, I’m not sure about your take on Amazon and the nudist genre. I’ve read, or tried to read (a lot are just terribly written) quite a few nudist/naturist books from Amazon, and there are a lot of them out there. Some definitely verge on porn, but that’s not really what I’m looking for in a book. I think one of the best in terms incorporating a nudist plot point along with an interesting story and believable characters was The Volunteer. I’d love to read something similar from a writer with your talent and perspective. Looking forward to more of your posts here!

I’m late to this thread but I like your prose! If you’re looking for more inspiration and examples of interesting naturist/nudist fiction, +1 for “The Volunteer” by D.H. Jonathan along with its sequel, “The Girl Who Stopped Wearing Clothes”. I’ve also enjoyed many of the stories by A.D. Rowen, most notably “Brave Nude World” and “Carla Takes Her Clothes Off”. The genre could use more female/non-binary perspectives, so I look forward to reading your stories. ☺️

"naturism has nothing to do with sex"

But being human does. So, unless you are writing for 12 year olds or the characters aren't human, there ought to be at least a passing notion of sexuality. Even Star Wars had sexual tension and that movie WAS for 12 year olds.. Nudists are often so worried about being confused with orgiasts and swingers they end up being as prudish as any fundamentalist.

“So there’s this girl who doesn’t wear clothes, like ever. And then, she becomes a writer..."

That sounds like the life I've been trying for! lol!
